iSNet Hosted URL Filtering
iSNet has deployed the Zscaler Web Filtering Suite to complement its range of hosted protection and security services. Zscaler offers iSNet customers secure, granular control and detailed reporting of their internet traffic.
Schools can choose from 4 options -
- iSNet Standard Suite (with option to add Bandwidth Control)
- iSNet Advanced Suite (with option to add Bandwidth Control)
- iSNet Optional Bandwidth Control
- iSNet Premium Suite

High Reliability & Availability – iSNet offers carrier grade Web Filtering with four 9's (99.99%) availability. iSNet’s private node in conjunction with Zscaler’s public Enforcement Nodes (ZEN) across 40 data centres is N-way redundant.
Ultra-Low Latency – iSNet’s private node and Zscaler’s 40+ data centres around the world allow your traffic to get to iSNet’s Web Filter quickly. Once you are there, iSNet Zscaler proxies, backed by 30 patents, ensure your traffic is processed quickly. The net result is the cloud introduces less than 10 milliseconds of latency, to any Internet transaction – from any city in the world.
URL Filtering – iSNet uses a combination of powerful classification engines and classification teams, based on five continents to categorize millions of URLs. However, traditional URL filtering is not enough. iSNet also utilises Dynamic Content Classification (DCC) technology to analyse pages as they are accessed, providing a second layer of real-time URL protection. iSNet classifies across 6 classes, 30 Super Categories, with flexibility to override predefined URL classification and dynamic content classification for unknown URL’s. iSNet’s granular policy enables filtering by user, group, location, time and quota.
Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware – The iSNet cloud is constantly kept up to date with the latest signatures and dynamic counter measures to protect against a comprehensive array of spyware and viruses. Schools no longer need to push signatures to data centre hardware or end user desktops. It is all done in the iSNet cloud.
Real Time Reporting – Any transaction anywhere in seconds, 2 year summary and 6 months of transaction logs as standard (transaction logs can be extended to 7 years).
Optional – Bandwidth Control - Optional Bandwidth Control can be added to Standard and Advanced Suites and is included in Premium Suite. Video consumes 20 times as much bandwidth as traditional data. iSNet gives schools the power to control who consumes, how much bandwidth, at what time of day, from which location – maximizing utilisation and lowering cost.
